| VPN |
VPN stands for Virtual Private
Network and it is the technology
to create a secure private
network between two hosts using
a public network like Internet.
The three protocols used by
VPN are PPTP (point to point
tunnelling protocol), L2TP
(layer 2 tunnelling protocol)
and IPSec (Internet protocol
security).
VPN Tunnel is a virtual private
passage through an insecure
medium like Internet.
VPN client, this could be
a computer (any operating system)
or a router depending on the
needs. VPN server, this is
a connection point for VPN
clients.
PPTP
stands for point-to-point tunnelling
protocol and allows PPP packets
to be encapsulated within IP
Packets and over any IP network.
Layer
2 Tunnelling protocol is an extension
of PPTP used by ISPs to enable
the operation of private VPN
networks over the Internet.
Basically
VPN is created by the client
system’s VPN software establishing
a connection through a secure
tunnel with a VPN server. The
tunnel can be built using PPTP,
L2TP or IPSec protocols.

Yes,
but you may have to download
OpenVPN (view it here )
as well. This is because in a
few countries the Internet Service
Provider has blocked the regular
connection of VPN Networks (Virtual Private
Networks).
The
use of Virtual Private Networks
is legal in all countries except
the following:
Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea,
Sudan, and Syria.
Today
these countries censor internet
access: Azerbaijan, Bahrain,
Brazil, China, Ethiopia, Iran,
India, Korea, Morocco, Myanmar,
Oman, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia,
Singapore, Syria, Sudan, Thailand,
Turkey, Tunisia, United Arab
Emirates, Uzbekistan, Vietnam,
Yemen.

| Security
and Privacy |
VPN
Worldwide encrypts all your traffic.
Nobody between your computer
and our VPN servers can see your
data. The encryption must not
be disabled on your VPN client
configuration. Of course we can
not 100% guarantee your data
safety but probability of tracking
is extremely low. These VPN solutions
are commonly used by many companies
all over the world.
The PPTP VPN connection is encrypted
by Microsoft Point-to-Point Encryption
128bit (MPPE128). It is a protocol
for encrypting data across Point-to-Point
Protocol (PPP) and Virtual Private
Network links. It uses the RSA
RC4 encryption algorithm. MPPE
supports 40-bit, 56-bit and 128-bit
session keys, which are changed
frequently to improve security.
The exact frequency that the
keys are changed is negotiated,
but may be as frequent as every
packet.

| IP
addresses & VPN servers |
The
IP address that you will get
depends on the VPN server country.
Now you can choose from the following
VPN servers and Countries: USA,United
Kingdom Czech Republic (Prague)
Slovakia (Bratislava)
You
can change your Dedicated IP
Address and VPN server location
by emailing us:
support@vpnworldwide.com
Dynamic
IP
When you connect to VPN Worldwide our
server will give you a Public IP
address which will be automatically
chosen from the currently free IP
addresses on that VPN server.
This IP address is not shared
and you can use it until you
disconnect your VPN. You can
always use all 655535 ports.
Next time you connect to VPN
Worldwide the IP address may
change to another one which is
currently free. With the dynamic
IP plan you connect to any of
available VPN servers and you
can change the VPN server anytime
you wish, but only one connection
can be established at the same
time with one VPN Worldwide account.
Dedicated (static) IP
We will give you a dedicated IP
which will be always static.
Whenever you connect to VPN Worldwide
you will always get the same
IP address. When you purchase VPN
Worldwide Dedicated IP,
we will email you your server and IP address
.
Please keep in mind that the IP address
always belongs to only one VPN
server so it will work only on
that exact VPN server and you will
not be able to change VPN server
anytime you want. Dedicated IP
can be useful if you need some
of your computers to be accessible
remotely. For example you can
setup WEB or FTP server on your
computer and anyone from the
internet can access your computer
remotely.
CAUSE:
You are connected to a different
VPN server than our UK server.
Only our UK VPN server allows you to
access UK resources like BBC
iPlayer, Last.fm, etc.
SOLUTION:
Please proceed with the following steps:
Configure your VPN client to
United Kingdom VPN server address.
Go to VPN Worldwide by double-clicking
on the VPN Worldwide shortcut
on your desktop. Click on properties.
In the VPN location, select Europe
4 (UK) or Europe
5 (UK)
If
you wish to keep your current
dedicated IP unchanged, then
you have to purchase next VPN
period at anytime before the
date when your Dedicated IP VPN
service expires. For example
let's say that your Dedicated
VPN service expires on 2009-09-10.
Re-order your account before
the expiry date and the new VPN
period will continue to your
currently running period (it
will start from 2009-09-11),
so you will not loose any day
of your VPN service and IP address
will remain assigned to your
account.
In the case that your VPN service
would expire without any purchase
of next period, then your currently
used Dedicated IP will be freed
for other users.

VPN
configuration
|
CAUSE:
A firewall between you and our
VPN servers is
blocking the PPTP VPN connection
- TCP port 1723 or GRE protocol.
You have disabled "VPN
pass-through" option in
your ADSL/WIRELESS/NAT router.
PPTP VPN is blocked by your ISP.
Bug in Windows system or ADSL/NAT/WIRELESS
router.
SOLUTION:
Please proceed with the following
steps:
Disable your Windows Firewall
or Norton Antivirus or another
software which could block GRE
protocol or port TCP 1723. Then
try to connect.
If it still doesn't work then
remove your VPN connection from
Windows, reboot your computer
and configure VPN connection
again. Be sure that latest Windows
update is installed. Again try
to connect.
If it still doesn't work then
reboot your ADSL/NAT/WIRELESS
router. Be sure that the latest
firmware is installed. Try to
connect.
if still doesn't work be sure
that you have enabled the "VPN
pass-through" option in
your ADSL/WIRELESS/NAT router
configuration.
if it still doesn't work then
try to connect directly without
the router. Try to connect on
different internet connection.
CAUSE:
You have mal-configured your
DNS servers.
SOLUTION:
Normally your DNS servers are
configured automatically. You
can check if you are able to
ping any internet IP address
(not hostname). If you are able
to ping IP addresses but can
not access any web pages, then
change your static DNS servers.
We recommend using OpenDNS
servers.
The
latest firmware can fix some
errors in ADSL modems made by
Aztech. The most common reason
why your VPN connection doesn't
work is because of your ADSL
modem (ADSL/NAT/WIRELESS router).
If your VPN doesn't work, you
can simply reboot the router
by power cycle. The best way
how to avoid such problems is
to install the latest firmware.
Latest firmware for Aztech modems
used in UAE can be downloaded
at:http://www.aztech.com/Support/drivers.html
Also don't forget to enable the VPN
pass-through option
in your ADSL modem!
