How exactly does it work? The first step is to go to their website and download the installer. As can be seen in the following image, the installation process is extremely simple and does not differ from other applications.
Once the wizard has finished its work, run the application. The qBittorrent interface doesn’t exactly stand out for being the most modern on the market, but it is certainly functional and simple. Although the translation is not complete, before proceeding we recommend you go to the settings and select Spanish as the main language. It is also available in Catalan, Basque, and Galician.
With all these tasks completed, it’s time to move on to the setup to enable the search engine.

Next, click the View menu and check Search Engine.
Doing so will bring up a pop-up window requesting to install the Python interpreter for Windows. If you want to have your torrent application with an operational search engine, you will have no choice but to install this component. Just click Yes and the application will take care of the rest.
The Search tab will now be available next to Transfers. Unfortunately, there are still a few things you need to do before you can locate torrents with the built-in search engine. First, click on Search to open the tab.
When you see the No search plugins installed message, tap on the Search Plugins button located in the bottom right corner.
In the pop-up window, click Check for updates. When the program finishes locating all the sources to search, the warning that appears in the following screenshot will be displayed:
Go back to the search tab and write your query at the top. The list below shows all the results. If you right-click on each of them, the context menu appears with the Download option.
The moment you click on it, the torrent is added to the download manager and, if possible, the transfer will start.
TorrDoid, torrent with the search engine for Android
If downloading torrents from Android is your thing, the best torrent application with a search engine is TorrDroid. It is available on the Play Store completely free of charge. While it is true that it displays ads, they are not intrusive at all.
Using TorrDoid is very easy. Follow these instructions to take advantage of it on your phone:
- Download and install TorrDoid.
- Click on the Search tab.
- Enter the keywords and the type of torrent you are trying to locate.
- Tap Search to confirm.
- The results are stored in the History tab.
- Click on the download button that you will see next to each one of them.
- The download will start as soon as possible.

You can change this value from the application settings. In TorrDroid preferences you will also find the following parameters:
- Download over Wi-Fi only. It allows you to avoid downloads using mobile data and reserve them only for Wi-Fi networks.
- Filter adult content. Filters out adult content and doesn’t show it in search results.
- Download speed control. TorrDroid includes options to limit the download or upload speed.
