In recent weeks we have seen more and more technology companies have problems in China. A couple of weeks ago, WhatsApp stopped working in the country. Now it is Apple that has problems. They have removed all VPN apps from the App Store in China.

It seems that the new censorship laws of the country’s government have had a lot to do with this decision. VPNs have generally been the way for Chinese citizens to access content that they could not otherwise see. Now, such a form is no longer possible. At least from the App Store.
Apple and the Chinese Government
Among the apps that have been removed by Apple are ExpressVPN and Star VPN. Both have commented on the situation on Twitter. Although it has been the first that has been more forceful in stating that Apple is supporting censorship in this way. Therefore, the company may take some action against this decision.
What many consider is that Apple has had to do this because perhaps it was one of the conditions that the Chinese government imposed on them. The American company is going to open two research and development centers in China. So it may be that this was one of the conditions of the agreement.
At the moment not much more is known about it. All those in China who want to access VPNs on the App Store simply no longer have the ability to do so. So they are going to have to look for alternative ways to access said content.
